A Little visit to Singapore

I’m in Singapore at the moment primarily seeing friends. I’m staying with a friend and trying to be oh so careful not to exceed my budget. This is quite difficult as Singapore is a fabulous place for shopping.

I feel very much at home here despite the fact that I spent most of life living in the tropical jungles of New Guinea and now live in a coastal village next to deserted beaches and secluded, peaceful forests.

Singapore is a highly organised city-state with a magnificent public transport system. It is easy to get around and if you are hungry, look over your shoulder. There is bound to be a ‘coffee shop’ hawker centre or cafe available providing all kinds of multi-cultural food.

It also provides an interesting array of different things to see and do; from Chinatown, Little india, and Malay Town to the Singapore Flyer, Clarkes Quay, Botanic Gardens, the Zoo, Marina Bay, Sentosa Island, Universal Studios and Casino, to the Gardens by the Bay, the wonderful selections of museums and Parliament.

There is just so much to do for every budget.

I look forward to further interesting snippets in the next couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
